This is one of a series of works made in response to a visit to the Nagano Mountains, Japan, in the Autumn of 2003. This piece was made in a demonstration at the CPA event Oxford Ceramics, October 2006 and is documented in the CPA News covering the event. Subsequently the piece was one of six works successfully submitted to CPA council for my election to CPA Fellow in February 2007. Made as a composite form, combining both handbuilding and throwing, this container exemplifies my purpose to investigate and manifest my encounters with the landscape.
