At 80 cms high this is the largest Nagano Series piece that I made. A Lidded vessel with a hand carved and flame scorched plum wooden handle. 

Constructed with huge stretched and textured soft sheets of cay wrapped around a hand formed, footed base. Excellent rich dark red copper glaze with detailed texture. Made around 2008 it has a huge presence. Currently displayed in our home in the conservatory. A milestone achievement and a completely unique work.  One only ever made. This piece was displayed in 2010, commanding centre position in the exhibition 'Curtis Red' Rufford, Nottinghamshire.
